Barkly Homestead to Mt Isa

Shock horror!! A nippy morning meant shoes and socks instead of sandals! Go away!

It is interesting how 'Homesteads' supplement their income with caravan parks - this one was very good with drive through sites and good amenities.

Once again we faced a really strong headwind along the Barkly Highway where the terrain varied significantly, sometimes a lot of trees and sometimes there were none. The wind slowed most caravanners to about 80km/hr - makes it difficult to overtake a triple Road Train!

Re-fuelled over the Qld border at Camooweal and continued on to the Big 4 at Mt Isa where we scored the last site - we booked it at lunch. We are here for 3 nights.
