Millstream-Chichester National Park

Karratha is quite a large town with good shopping area and facilities.
Apart from the usual attractions there is little of interest in the town itself. So to-day we drove about 150km into the Millstream-Chichester National Park. Millstream Homestead was owned privately until the 1960's but has been purchased by the WA government and amalgamated with the Chichester National Park. We began at the Homestead which is located in an 'oasis in the desert'. Just a short walk from the homestead led us to the beautiful Chinderwarriner Pool with its water lilies and nymphettes. We had lunch here on a glorious day, 24 degrees, cloudless sky (sorry Peter & Helen). We continued to other parts of the park including the 'Clifftop Lookout' overlooking the Fortescue River. On our way home our car was pleading for a bath so .......... Once again we had a great day!
