Darwin Sightseeing

Darwin has grown considerably since our last visit.
Cyclone Tracey in 1974 has obviously afforded the administators the luxury of planning the city well into the future - It is now a very modern and attractive city.
We began the day with a walk around Government House with its beautiful Bougainvillea hedge, then on to the impressive looking Parliament House.
Crocodile Cove was then a most interesting visit - includes the largest reptile display in Australia. We watched the feeding of fish, including huge Barramundi, and also the feeding of crocodiles.
It was then on to the Cullen Bay development - luxury waterfront homes around a lake with the water level managed by a lock.
On to the beautifully designed East Point Recreation Area - the lake was 'CLOSED' - problems with pollution.
On our way home we visited the huge shopping complex at Casuarina.
Our GPS has earned a rest, so its back to the van.
