Broome to 80 Mile Beach to Port Hedland

Friday we set off from Broome for 80 Mile Beach which, we were told, is 'a must'. It meant taking our van 'off road' for about 10km on a road which was reasonable, perhaps a little corrugated in places.
Once again we find a van park almost at capacity.
At low tide the beach is practically deserted but as the tide comes in it is 'wall to wall' fishermen. They are catching threadfin Salmon, some of them were about 10kg.
The sunset was spectacular.
Saturday the sunrise was incredibly colourful. We had a relaxing day at 80 Mile Beach. Although it is quite a pleasant beach the managers advise that 'we do not know what is in the water, there have been no incidents but we cannot suggest swimming'.
Sunday we packed up and headed for Port Hedland. Once again it was fortunate that we booked in advance as there are no vacancies at our park at Cooke Point. We off-loaded the van, looked at the ocean view from the park, did some shopping, a quick look around then back home for a swim.
We are here for three nights and then we go to Karijini National Park.
